Hongkong-Downtown hat eine Stimmung wie New York, London und Tokyo zusammen. Den ganzen Nachmittag im Goethe-Institut Zeitungen gelesen. Die Australian High Comission war im damaligen \u201eConnaught Centre\u201c (heute <a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jardine_House\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jardine House<\/a>) untergebracht, einem der ersten Wolkenkratzer Hongkongs, welches sich durch die gro\u00dfen runden Fenster auszeichnete (Nicht auf dem Foto zu sehen!). Das Geb\u00e4ude wurde wenige Jahre sp\u00e4ter durch die Verfilmung von James Clavells Buch \u201e<a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Noble_House_(Fernsehserie)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Noble House<\/a>\u201c bekannt und dies l\u00f6ste bei uns immer ein \u201eda waren wir schon!\u201c-Gef\u00fchl aus.<br \/>Ich verstehe r\u00fcckblickend nicht mehr, warum wir unbedingt von Hongkong nach Australien fliegen wollten, wo doch wahrscheinlich ein Flug von Singapur deutlich billiger gewesen w\u00e4re. Aber mangels Internet und anderer Informationsquellen konnten wir das vermutlich nicht recherchieren.
